Paper
Available:
Green Dragon Arts Standard -
These are acid free heavy weight papers (80-100 lbs) used for artwork.
They are excellent
all around papers and can be framed without mounting the calligraphy
artwork. (mounting is still recommended is some instances)
These papers do not wrinkle from ink. Available
in white or cream color. Calligraphy artwork will be created using
this paper unless specified otherwise.
Calligraphy Paper-
Traditional brush calligraphy paper comes in either white or natural color
and has a very light texture. The natural color paper is a very
popular style paper because it gives the artwork a very traditional and
slightly antique look. This paper is very
delicate and is especially prone to wrinkles caused by the shrinking of the ink
as it dries.
It is recommended that artwork created with this paper be mounted. If
wrinkles are a problem and you do not want to have your artwork mounted,
let us know and we can help you choose a different paper that is right for you.
Watercolor Paper - This
white acid free 140lb paper is excellent for calligraphy artwork. Because
it is so
heavy, mounting is not necessary.
Art Quality Paper- Almost any
art paper can be used in creating Chinese calligraphy artworks. There
is always a paper that can meet your specific requirements. For ideas on
what art papers are available, please visit any art supply store. You
can supply your own paper, send us a sample or just let us know what your
are looking for. Some of the most popular colors are: Gray Marble, Tan/Gray marble,
and Natural Rag.
Canvas - Traditionally
used for oil paintings. This paper is white with a heavy canvas
texture. Sizes limited to 10"x12", 12" x 16",
16"x20" and 18"x24"

Ink
- We use traditional Chinese calligraphy ink. It is a
professional quality water based black ink.
We also have available other
color inks, please let us know if you have a special preference.

Do
you want the artwork matted or
framed?
Mat - Matting is an inexpensive way of
giving your artwork that finished look even without a frame. When paired with the proper frame and mat our artwork will look spectacular.. Mat
Colors
Mount -
When necessary we use a heavy illustration type board as a backing for the Chinese
Calligraphy artwork. This provides the best protect for the
artwork.
Frames - Frames are also limited to 11x14 max size. The reason for this is that it becomes
cost prohibitive to ship framed artwork of larger sizes. See our frame
